Strict Action of Delhi Police on Holi; Over 600 Challans Issued for Drunken Driving
On the day of Holi in the national capital, more than 600 challans were deducted for driving drunk
Delhi Police has informed that in the National Capital, more than 600 challans were cut due to drink and drive on Holi. To ensure that the festival of Holi is celebrated in a peaceful and safe manner, a total of 647 people were caught for driving drunk. Around 181 were caught for riding three people on a two-wheeler; 1,192 for not wearing helmets and 156 challans for driving rashly.
More than 170 traffic tickets were made and district police personnel were deployed to ensure that the festival of Holi is celebrated in a peaceful manner. Around 1,600 personnel were deployed only by Delhi Traffic Police.
According to the police, elaborate traffic arrangements were made to ensure the safety of motorists and check incidents of drunken driving on the occasion of Holi.
