The latest update on Solar Pump Scheme is that its online registration process has been started. The applications for Solar Pump Yojana are being accepted for component A of Kusum Yojana in Rajasthan. Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECLMIS) is given responsibility to implement KUSUM Yojana.
The registration process for KUSUM Yojana has begun on the official website of the department. According to the reports, the state government of Rajasthan has declared to set up a total of 2600 MW of decentralized solar power plants on unused or barren land of farmers in the next 3 years in Rajasthan. Under the direction of MNRE issued for Kusum Scheme in the 2019 Budget Announcement.
Adding more to the good news, FM Nirmala Sitharaman has declared the expansion of the scheme in the union budget 2020 which decided to cover 20 lakh farmers across the nation this year.
Application Process Begins for KUSUM Scheme Component A:
Applications are being accepted in Rajasthan for component A of the Kusum yojana. Under Component-A of the yojana, the government promised that the decentralized solar power plants of 500 KW to 2 MW capacities will be set up on uncultivated / wastelands of farmers located in a radius of five km near 33/11 KV sub-stations of distribution corporations. Kusum Yojana is not only limited to solar agriculture pumps, but also includes the installation of solar power plants that comes under component A.
What comes under component A of the Rajasthan Kusum Yojana?
As per the Ministry of Renewable Energy, energy-dependent power plants in component A of Kusum Yojana will be established by the farmers. These power plants can be planted on cultivated land on stilts where yields can be grown under solar panels. These projects will be installed within a radius of 5 kilometers of the sub-station so that transmission losses can be minimized. Also, the land can be given on lease.
What is the Eligibility for Rajasthan Solar Pump Yojana?
Farmers, cooperative societies, groups of farmers, water consumers associations, farmer producer organizations, and panchayats having their own or lease land would be eligible to participate in this scheme and solar power producer (SPG) will be considered.
How much is the Application Fees for KUSUM Yojana?
The applicant has to pay the application fee at the rate of Rs. 5000 per MW + GST, which is to be submitted in the form of a demand draft in the name of Managing Director Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation. (Rs 2500 for 0.5 MW, Rs 5000 for 1 MW, Rs 7500 for 1.5 MW, Rs 10,000 for 2 MW + GST)
