Indian Doctor Couple Resigns amid COVID-19, Action will be Taken
The Indian doctor couple have given their resignation letter during the coronavisrus outbreak. The couple were told to join within 24 hours or a FIR will be lodged.
According to sources, a doctor has given resignation along with his wife. As they both were posted in a coronavirus isolation ward.
Dr Tirkey & Dr Soumya were deployed in a government hospital in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. Dr Tirkey gave the resignation letter through whatsapp then further he mailed it.
On Monday night, West Singhbhum civil surgeon Dr Manju Dubey said “they received the resignation on Whatsapp and email on Tuesday morning.
The civil surgeon added that Dr Tirkey has mentioned health problems of her wife in the resignation letter. Dr Tirkey is a specialist physician told that he was a victim of office politics.
Dr Tirkey told that he was posted in non communicative disease department as he had rejoined four days ago here. Yet the next day he was employed all alone in the ward of corona isolation.
He alleged that why other doctors were not deployed for the same. He told that How can I handle the rush of patients alone in isolation ward.
Dr Tirkey stated that in DMCH sufficient medicines were not available to treat the patients. I was taking care of the isolation ward from 10am to 1pm. Even without the protective kit on the first day said Dr Tirkey.
The Dr Tirkey & his wife are asked to join duty within 24 hours or a FIR will be filed against the couple. As per health secretary’s directive, the couple will be charged under Jharkhand Epidemic Disease.
The doctor will also face cancellation of their Medical Council of India registration if they fail to join within 24 hours said Dr Dubey.
