IND vs NZ: India's Clean Sweep After 31 Years
India lost three match ODI series by 3-0 after 31 years.India has never before suffered such an embarrassing defeat.
New Zealand takes revenge for the T20I whitewash with an ODI whitewash. New Zealand defeated India by five wickets in the final ODI match and made a clean sweep in the three match series. Indian bowlers were unable to defend 296 runs despite KL Rahul's century innings.
For the First time
For the first time under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, India has lost a series with a clean sweep. India has never before suffered such an embarrassing defeat.
In 1989, West Indies had defeated India 5–0 at home ground, after which no team had a clean sweep over Team India in a three or more match series. In 2006, the Indian team returned from South Africa in a five-match ODI series without winning any matches. One match was then canceled by rain while India lost the remaining four matches.
New Zealand has whitewash India in the three-match one-day series. In the third or final match, New Zealand beat India by five wickets and also won the series with the match.
