Indian sweets are famous across the globe due to its mouth watering taste and numerous varieties. ‘Gajar ka Halwa’ is one of the most delicious Indian sweets made from carrot.  ‘Gajar ka Halwa’, also known as gajorer halua, Gajrela, Gajar Pak and Carrot halwa  is a carrot-based sweet desert pudding from the Indian subcontinent.  Moreover, it’s an ideal partner for winters if you have too much craving for sweets. The best part is that gajar ka halwa is a sweet which is used in all Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi, Eid al Fitr and Raksha Bandhan. It is made by placing grated carrots in a pot containing a specific amount of water, milk and sugar and then cooking while stirring regularly. 

Ingredients for ‘Gajar ka Halwa’

5 g-  Kishmish (Raisins)

25g-  Kaju (Cashewnuts) Chopped

1 kg-  Carrots Grated

litre- Milk

tbsp-MILKMAID Pure Ghee

1/2 tin (200g)-NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk

Method to make ‘Gajar Ka Halwa’

  1. Mix carrots and milk in a pan, bring to a boil. Cook on low flame, stirring occasionally, till milk dries up.
  2. Add NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk and continue cooking on low flame, stirring occasionally, till it dries up.
  3. Add the ghee and cook for another 10 minutes. Garnish your's gajar ka halwa with nuts and raisins and serve hot.
