DMRC Constructing Bridge on Yamuna to Connect Wazirabad & Signature Bridge
The construction of new bridge will be fifth bridge of DMRC which is connecting Wazirabad and Signature Bridge.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will be constructing a bridge under phase 4 on the Yamuna which will certainly connect the existing two bridges including Wazirabad Bridge and the Signature Bridge.
Anuj Dayal Spokesperson of the DMRC said, "Delhi Metro will construct a 560m-long bridge on River Yamuna on the Majlis Park – Maujpur corridor of Delhi Metro’s Phase IV".

The Delhi Metro has 4 bridges on the Yamuna including -
• Kashmere Gate to Shastri Park (Red Line)
• Indraprastha to Yamuna Bank (Blue Line)
• Okhla Bird Sanctuary to Kalindi Kunj (Magenta Line)
• Sarai Kale Khan (Nizamuddin) to Mayur Vihar Phase 1 (Pink Line)
Anuj Dayal further added, “Besides connecting the Soorghat Metro Station and Sonia Vihar Metro Station of the Majlis Park – Maujpur corridor, this bridge will come up between two existing bridges on Yamuna that are Wazirabad Bridge and the Signature Bridge.
The official of DMRC told "Due to rocky strata found at the location, the bridge will be constructed using Piling Method instead of Well Foundation method".
The Yamuna river generally crosses by this bridge at 385m downward of old Wazirabad Bridge and 213 upstream of signature Bridge.
The permission was granted by the National Green Tribunal for the construction of this bridge.
In the last year of December, the DMRC had started the construction work of Delhi Metro's Phase 4.
Though, permission had been given by the NGT for the construction of the bridge by imposing certain conditions.
