The third phase of the nationwide lockdown begins today with some ease in restrictions, depending on the red, green, or orange zone.

Meanwhile in a major decision, regarding Coronavirus lockdown, the Bihar government has decided there will be no green zone in Bihar, it will have only orange and red zones.

However, the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement that "significant gains in the COVID-19 situation", areas with few or no cases would see "considerable relaxations".

The MHA introduced new rules to manage various exercises in this period, because of the hazard profiling of the districts of the nation into Red, Orange, and Green zones. The new guidelines have permitted ease in restrictions in Green and Orange zones. These zones have been classified in terms of districts with either zero confirmed cases to date; or, no confirmed case in the last 21 days.

Here's the full rundown of exercises allowed and denied in Red, Green Zone, and Orange Zone regions across India from today:

Traveling via air, rail, metro and inter-State movement by road; running of schools, colleges, and other educational and training/coaching institutions; hospitality services, including hotels and restaurants; places of large public gatherings, such as cinema halls, malls, gymnasiums, sports complexes, etc; social, political, cultural and other kinds of gatherings; and, religious places/ places of worship for the public is not allowed in any of the three-zone. However, the movement of persons by air, rail, and road is allowed for select purposes.

Movement of individuals, for all non- essential activities, shall remain strictly prohibited from 7 pm to 7 am in all three zones.

OPD's and Medical facilities will be allowed to work, with social distancing standards and other wellbeing precautionary measures.

Plying of cycle rickshaws and auto-rickshaws; running of taxis and cab aggregators; intra-district and inter-district plying of buses and barber shops, spas, and saloons  are not permitted in Red and Containment Zones yet permitted in Orange and green zones with certain standards and guideline applied.

Movement of people and vehicles is permitted uniquely for allowed exercises, with a limit of 2 people (other than the driver) in four-wheeler vehicles, and with no pillion rider on account of bikes is permitted in each of the three Red, Orange and Green Zone yet not permitted in Containment Zones.

With 2553 new cases reported in 24 hours, the number of COVID-19 deaths climbed to 1,373 and total cases jumped to 42,533 on Monday morning. 72 fresh deaths were reported taking the death toll to 1,373. The total positive cases include 29,453 active cases & 11706 recovered cases, according to the health ministry.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan encouraged individuals to to watch the all-inclusive fourteen day time of lockdown in letter and soul and treat it as a successful mediation to chop down the chain of transmission of COVID-19. We are on the way of winning the war against the pandemic COVID-19, he included.

Meanwhile in a significant declaration, US President Donald Trump on Sunday, May 3 announced with confidence that the vaccine for coronavirus COVID-19 will become available by the end of the year.
