Coronavirus: 6 New Cases in Kerala & Karnataka Reported; UK Health Minister Nadine Dorries Tests Positive
6 new infections had been reported in Kerala, Karnataka. The number of people suffering by it in India has crossed 50.
People infected from the deadly coronavirus are on the rise. Recently, Kerala and Karnataka reported new cases. Thus, the number of people suffering by it in India has crossed 50.
Around 4,000 people have died of the virus across the world. However, no deaths in India have been reported till now.
Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, “Six new infections had brought the state total to 12 on Tuesday. Three others who tested positive earlier have been treated & discharged.”
Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu said, “In the state the number of infections rose from one to four.”
Tamil Nadu counterpart, C Vijayabhaskar said, “Eight people had tested negative which included seven "close contacts" of a 45-year old Covid-19 patient.”
UK Health Minister Diagnosed with Covid-19:
UK Health Minister & Conservative MP Nadine Dorries is diagnosed with coronavirus. Ms Dorries is the first MP to test positive. The minister in charge of patient safety said in a statement, "I can confirm I have tested positive for coronavirus.
She added, “As soon as I was informed I took all the advised precautions and have been self-isolating at home.”
Indian Air Force Flies Indians from Iran:
IAF has brought home 58 Indians from Iran. A C-17 Globemaster carrying 25 men, 31 women & two children landed at the Hindon airbase near Ghaziabad. The swab samples of 529 Indians have been brought back for testing.
The government was working on bringing back more Indians from Iran, said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
